Itaimbezinho Canyon  – Route along the edges – Aparados da Serra National Park

The Itaimbezinho Canyon is the most famous of Aparados da Serra National Park and also one of the largest in Brazil. It's length reaches 5,800 meters and its width reaches 2000 meters. The rock walls reach 720 meters in height and are covered by a low vegetation and native pines. Rock formations are at least 130 million years. There are two trails to visit: 

Trilha do Vértice: easy to track where you could see the beginning of the Itaimbezinho Canyon. During the track looks to the Waterfalls from a height of 700 meters towards the bottom of the canyon, but it turns into mist before reaching it. 

Trilha do Cotovelo: Walk on rural road to a lookout where you could see the immensity of the Canyon walls, reaching 720 meters deep. The access trail is easy with 6.3 km (round trip) and takes about 3 hours to complete. Open only until 15h.
